Notice and takedown procedure

How to report

From the application — "Report" button present on every flag and every comment. The form asks you to select a reason, and allows you to add further details.

Outside the app — through the in-app contact form (ⓘ menu → “Contact us”), subject “Report (in writing)”, stating the link or identifier of the content, the reason, and the elements enabling its unlawful nature to be assessed. A sufficiently precise and substantiated notice is necessary for it to be processed.

Processing

  1. Receipt — the notice is recorded and an acknowledgement is sent where the notifier can be reached.
  2. Automated pre-qualification — an automated tool sorts and prioritises notices. It makes no final decision on ambiguous cases.
  3. Human review — any contestable decision, and any decision touching on freedom of expression, is reviewed by a person.
  4. Decision — retention, removal, or warning.
  5. Statement of reasons — the author of the content is informed of the decision and its reasons, as well as of the available means of redress.

Content that is manifestly unlawful or presents a risk to persons is processed as a priority and may be hidden immediately, pending review.

Appeals

The author of removed content, as well as the author of a rejected notice, may contest the decision through the in-app contact form (ⓘ menu → “Contact us”), subject “Contest a decision”. The appeal is reviewed by a person who did not take the initial decision, to the extent of the publisher's resources.

Abusive notices

Notices that are manifestly unfounded and repeated may no longer be processed.

Orders from authorities

Requests from judicial or administrative authorities are handled at the point of contact indicated in the legal notice.
